“REACHING ZERO CARBON WITHIN OLDER NHS BUILDINGS WITHOUT BUILDING FROM NEW” HIGHLY COMMENDED IN BUILT ENVIRONMENT PROJECT OF THE YEAR AT 2021 HSJ PARTNERSHIP AWARDS
2gether is delighted to announce that its project in Reaching Zero Carbon within Older NHS Buildings without Building from New has been Highly Commended in the Built Environment Project of the Year at this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards, recognising their hard-work and dedication to healthcare in what has been an unprecedented last 15-months. Following a comprehensive judging process, 2gether Support Solutions was handed the prestigious accolade ahead of a highly competitive shortlist.
Held on Tuesday 29 June 2021, the long-awaited evening was the first in-person event for a few lucky attendees from both the NHS and private sector as well as figures from non-clinical backgrounds. The HSJ Partnership Awards took place at the Evolution London where the evening celebrated the very best achievements and innovations in the healthcare sector today across a total of 17 categories.
2gether was recognised for their ambition, visionary spirit and the demonstrable positive impact that its project has had for dealing with poor eco performing buildings.
The project involved a partnership between NHS public and private organisations, including NHSE/I, Square Gain and the Carbon Free Group to solve this dilemma in an innovative way. Against the backdrop of an ageing estate there simply isn’t the opportunity to knock down and rebuild all our old buildings. By pioneering a combination of different technologies involving laser scanning, thermal imaging and air testing, the team developed a transformation tool and know now that not only guaranteed both a return on investment and a carbon free solution, it also represented value for money and could be applied across the wider NHS estate nationally. This combination and approach had not previously been used together to access the carbon status of a building and ultimately lead to a solution which would have the least amount of disruption to the day to day operational delivery of clinical services.
Vince Monaghan, Associate Director of Commercial Solutions at 2gether Support Solutions said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been Highly Commended in the Built Environment Project of the Year. It means a great deal to all our team to be recognised in this way and we’re confident that the positive impact of this commendation will help to create a long-lasting legacy – we really are proud to be a part of a community bound by a commitment to improve healthcare for all and to reach a zero-carbon base in line with government targets. This commendation will provide a tremendous boost to the entire team involved in this project and I am sure it will bolster our efforts to develop and continually improve our services.”
